Casting a Bronze Age winged axe

This video was commissioned by the museum “Fortress Königstein“ in Saxonia/Germany for a special exhibition about Bronze Age finds made on the fortress area a couple of years ago. We visited the well-known archaeotechnician and metal specialist Frank Trommer and his crew in their workshop in Blaubeuren (Germany) and filmed the whole chaine operatoire - from blending the ingredients in the smelting furnace until the final hafting of the axe.
