A VERY RARE Whale! | Fin/ Blue Whale Hybrid, Santa Barbara, CA.

WOW! What a sighting! Aboard Santa Barbara’s premiere whale watch company, The Condor Express, crew and passengers stumbled upon a dozen feeding blue whales. In the mix was this odd whale. A fin/blue whale hybrid! Later confirmed as “Flue,“ this whale has been documented since the early 2000’s by whale guru John Calambokidas with Cascadia Research. It has also been biopsy darted and satellite tagged. Flue has been seen off Baja California before and is likely the only confirmed Blue/ Fin hybrid in the north-eastern Pacific.
