My secondary school music teacher, the legendary Irish guitarist Tommy Halferty, would sit at the top of the class with a beautiful hollow-body Les Paul across his lap, talking about growing up in Northern Ireland, and the roots of acid Jazz. This mix contains some of my favourite Jazz guitarists over the years. Unfortunately I don’t have any of Tommy’s music on vinyl, but there’s plenty of acid Jazz in there, together with some of the greats like Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Louis Stewart, Christian Smith and more.
