‘Starving’ artist eats $120K banana at Art Basel | DW News

Artist Maurizio Cattelan’s piece “Comedian,“ which consisted of a banana duct-taped to the wall, had everyone talking at Art Basel in Miami Beach; especially after word got out that he had sold it for $120,000. But then “hungry artist“ David Datuna ate the piece in a bit of performance art. So was it another heist on the level of Cattelan’s stolen gold toilet? Or will Datuna slip on the peel?
