“I Remember Yesterday“ is best remembered for giving birth to “I Feel Love“, but the concept LP was so much more than that. The opening song “I Remember Yesterday“ was a tribute to the big band sound of the 40’s, while “Love’s Unkind“ was a Phil Spectorish production that recalls the Ronettes and the heartbreak of teens in the 50’s and early 60’s. The rest of the album followed suit and the final song on the album “I Feel Love“ represented the future. A strong effort that hit big in the UK as “I Remember Yesterday“ peaked at #20 and “Love’s Unkind“ did even better peaking at #3. A fifth single, “Back In Love Again“ made the Top 40 in Europe. They sure loves them some Donna! The radio programmers were skittish about “I Feel Love“ and substituted “Can’t We Just Sit Down And Talk It Over“, a sombre and heartfelt ballad that did not catch on.
