Israeli defence minister in US for talks as Gaza war approaches nine-month mark

Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant is in the US, hoping to persuade Washington to provide more support for its war in Gaza. He has met with pro-Israel lobby AIPAC, as well as top Republican Senator Lindsey Graham to discuss strengthening ties. He is set to hold talks with his US counterpart Lloyd Austin and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. As fighting in Gaza nears the nine-month mark, ties between Tel Aviv and Washington have come under strain, with America concerned about the surging civilian death toll. Sarah Coates reports.
