When China arrested Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, Canadian authorities claimed that China was engaging in a tit for tat action in response to Canada’s arrest of Huawei Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou and that they were innocent. Recently, however, Canada’s story has unraveled with Michael Spavor accusing Michael Kovrig of being a spy and involving him in his activities.
