More than 420 children are being killed or injured in Gaza each day, UNICEF has said. Briefing the UN Security Council, the organisation’s executive director Catherine Russell said that at least 3,400 children have been killed. The number of hostages that Hamas is believed to be holding has risen to 240, a spokesman for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has said.
