Historical Corpse Bride Part II #cosplay #halloween #shorts #corpsebride

Welcome back to part two of making a historically inspired corpse bride. To start off I made my bodice. It was so much fun to make this because for the first time ever I didn’t bother with a lining or boning. I cut two layers and just put all the pieces together. I didn’t bother finishing the hem because I needed that to fray at the edge to help with the aged look. Once I shaped my ribs I mounted that onto two layers of my jacquard and took my hand dandy LDH scissors and started cutting. I hand stitched my ribs panel to the bodice and added lace and cheese cloth to make it look like the fabric had dry rot and was falling apart. The lace trim I used was actually from my freshman project at Wimbledon over a decade ago (see you should never throw things away 🤣🤣) and I used ritdye get the blue effect as a nod to Emily’s dress in the movie. Once that was done I took fabric paint and watered it down and started the ageing process. Ready for the big reveal?? #cos
