The Houndstooth stitch is worked with the sc and dc. These stitches are worked alternately on the same row. The magic starts from the 2nd row where scs are worked into dcs from the previous row and dcs are worked into the scs from the previous row. This goes on for as many rows as you wish. This stitch can be used for various items and depending on hook sizes and yarn weights and types can create almost anything giving it that amazing texture! The foundation row requires an even number of stitches Row 1: sc, dc, sc, dc, sc, dc etc. Row 2: Chain 1, sc into dc from previous row then dc into sc etc. End the row with a dc. Row 3 - End: Repeat Row 2 Note: The rows begin a single crochet stitch and end with a double crochet stitch This stitch creates a beautiful dense texture and depending on the yarn weight works great with wearable apparel, accessories and even interior decor.
