Крейсер Аврора (The Cruiser Aurora)

The Cruiser Aurora has played a prominent role in Russian history and is now a popular tourist attraction in Saint Petersburg. She took part in the Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese War and a few years later a blank shot fired from one of the ship’s guns would signal the attack on the Winter Palace. Because of this event, Aurora would be regarded as a symbol of the October Revolution. Aurora acted as a training ship during World War Two and was often the subject to bombing. On September 30th 1941 she was sunk and underwent repairs from 1945 to 1947. After this she was docked in the Neva and became a museum-ship.
