Where the Action Is 1965– Action Kids - Keep On Dancing, The Gentrys

Airdate: October 26, 1965 Here is another rare video that was generously given to me by video collector “Uncle George”. If you enjoyed this video, please be sure to thank Uncle George in the comments. My guess is that this is the raw video before they added in Dick Clark’s usual narration. It looks like it was taped at an elementary or high school in southern CA (maybe this is part of La Sierra High School’s innovate PE program) Anyone recognize the schoolyard? The Action Kids dancing today: The girls (from left to right) - Joy Ciro, Lesley Evans, Jill Gordon (up front and center), Jerilyn Stapleton and Roberta Tennes The boys: Pete Menafee with Lesley (2:14), Steve Ciro with Joy (front left), Roger Minami with Jeri (front right), and (maybe?) Mike Williams with Roberta (back right) The Gentrys (song that’s so nice, they play it twice) “Keep On Dancing” is at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and will peak at #4 next week. (one of my all-time favorite songs. Who can resist dancing along to it?) This is one of only 6 original videotape clips of ”Action” that I‘ve seen. The other clips are The Syndicate of Sound “Little Girl” and The Leaves “Too Many People” @Cucamonga Sewing Circle and the others are The Animals singing various songs @Eric Burdon Tribute Channel 7 and 4. Thanks for watching!
