Then she collapses with hunger. She is found by an old acquaintance of her previous love. Intertitle reads: “Terrible Expiation“. The woman’s new man friend treats her cruelly. He tries to force her into prostitution. She can’t do it and he throws her off a bridge into a river. The man is chased away by the police and the woman is rescued from the icy waters.
