Teddy Tinling Fashions (1956)

Teddy Tinling’s South Pacific fashion show in London. M/S as models, Susie Turner and Pierre walk into shot; she wears a coolie style straw hat, a beach wrap in orange with a sequinned pineapple motif on each lower corner, with red swimsuit underneath and carries a circular bag that looks like a cushion with large white tassels. Her ensemble is called ’Waikiki’. Pierre wears a white beach shirt with a green and orange fruit print and orange denim ’slacks’; he takes off his sunglasses to look at the (real) pineapple Susie hands him. C/U of their colourful clothes; Pierre holds the pineapple next to Susie’s jacket motif; they walk towards camera which blacks out as Pierre’s jacket touches it. The next model, Shirley Worthington, walks into shot wearing a dazzling pink and orange striped tunic, pirate pants (pedal pushers) in ’bougainvillaea’ (pink to you and me) to match, a straw boater with draped fabric round the crown and parasol to match.
