Thermo Plastics (1960)

At a factory in Dunstable, Bedfordshire we see M/S and C/U of some men carrying a large sheet of soft plastic (cockpit cowling) which they drape over a mould and fix into position. M/S as a man in a white coat fixes a semicircular piece of wood to the end of the mould, and they clamp this into position. This is the early stages of the aircraft canopy. M/S of a woman checking a section of plastic canopy for flaws; C/U as she marks the flaws by circling with a red pencil; M/S as she pours some liquid onto the area and starts to polish it. M/S from inside the cockpit cowling of another woman polishing on the outside; low angle shot of her polishing. M/S of another woman working on the opposite side of the cockpit cowling; she starts to polish with an electric buffer. C/U from over her shoulder as she buffs. M/S of some men preparing some plastic to be made into a bath; C/Us as they fit some suction cups in place. M/S as they raise the plastic and remove a cover from beneath the plastic where there is
