Abbey Road Studios, 1960s newsreel clip

The Swinging Blue Jeans perform The Hippy Hippy Shake in a mocked-up session recording for the cameras. This was almost certainly made in Spring 1964, just after the Blue Jeans actually taped their version of the 1959 hit song. The scene appears to have been filmed inside Studio Three, with engineering legend Norman Smith at the recording desk. Smith, of course, powered a great many of the Beatles’ recording sessions. The clip also shows us a rare colour glimpse of the Ready Steady Go television studio. Other related Abbey Road (mostly Beatles): thedustpile&FORM=TOOLBR
