Welcome Laura Smulders. Laura Smulders joins the COMMENCAL BMX PROJECT! The 29-year-old Dutch rider, five-time UCI BMX Racing World Cup Champion (2016,2017,2018,2019 & 2022), 2018 World Champion and Bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, joins Sylvain André on a COMMENCAL BMX. Laura has her sights set on the 2023 UCI BMX Race season and her preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Between training sessions and competitions, Laura will also participate in the development of our future BMX bike. Here at COMMENCAL, we want to offer our vision of what a 20-inch aluminium race bike should be, getting ’back to basics’ since that’s where Max Commencal started his adventure in the world of bicycles... The whole COMMENCAL team welcomes Laura. Her first official appearance in her new colours is scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of June in Sakarya, Turkey, for the opening round of the 2023 World Cup season.
