The reason for this was four records by the ex-Beatles, which aroused interest in the Fab Four throughout the year, as well as the compilations of the Beatles from 1962-1966 and 1967-1970, popularly known as the “red“ and the “blue“ albums, released in April and very popular among music lovers. The year was coming to an end when suddenly a new disc by Paul McCartney hit the shelves of record stores, which became his most successful work in the post-Beatle era. The first works of McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles met with mixed and contradictory reactions in the music world, but the 1973 album was a great commercial and creative success. According to critics, with “Band on the Run“ Paul McCartney succeeded in achieving the ambitious goal of reaching the popularity of the Beatles. The compositions of the album belong to the most diverse genres and directions of rock music and show all aspects of Paul McCartney’s musical talent and, in particular, the talent of a brilliant melodist. “Band on the Run“ was especially popular in USSR, where the record was officially released by the company Melodiya (but without the title song, which was replaced by “Silly Love Songs“). Even John Lennon, who was sceptical of Paul’s independent work, spoke of this record as “a great album ... good stuff“. The Dans Ramblers band is a long-time and constant participant in musical events in Moscow and around the world. The group twice participated in the Beatle Week in Liverpool. #1973fest is the latest festival of a series of unique music tribute festivals in Russia, where the performances of all artists are tied to a specific calendar year in the history of world culture and society. The festival took place on March 25, 2023 at the Base Club in Moscow, Russia.
