Spirits buyer, Stefan Matulich, sits down to a one-on-one spirited discussion with the godfather of single malt, Jim McEwan. Not only is Jim McEwan, the most highly regarded distiller in the world (his CV includes Bowmore, Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte distilleries along with the independent bottler Murray McDavid and Renegade Rums), he is probably the most irreverent and amicable Scotsmen we’ve ever encountered. For 48 years he has distilled, sourced and blending some of the purest and most innovative drams in all of Scotland and this was his last trip to the U.S. before retirement -- which sadly, is not far away.
