Doomsday in Indonesia! A relentless flood has destroyed Jaipura! 260,000 were left homeless! Jayapura in Papua is currently devastated by massive flooding as heavy rains hit the region on Thursday. The rain lasted for about 3 hours and by the beginning of Friday 140 millimeters of precipitation fell in the city per day. The rain caused severe flooding in areas of North Jayapura, South Jayapura, Abepura, Heram and Muara Tami. Many areas were under water at a depth of 2 meters. In the market in Abepura, the water depth was 3 meters. Homes, public buildings and a hospital were flooded. This caused a series of landslides, as a result of which more than 15 settlements and 2,000 houses were affected. The flood also led to the evacuation of 1,600 people, of whom about half were children. They are currently being transferred to an evacuation site in Gurabesi, South Jayapura District.
