ITER: THE MOST POWERFUL MAGNET IN THE WORLD

Procured by the US, the first of the six modules of the Tokamak’s central solenoid was delivered to ITER on Thursday 9 September 2021. The force of the magnetic field generated by the 1,000-tonne column-like central solenoid could lift an aircraft carrier out of the water.
