Mr Devious - Raak Wys (classic Afrikaans hip hop from Cape Flats, South Africa)

Classic South African hip hop video by the great Mr Devious who was killed in 2004. Mr Devious is remembered as one of the greatest emcees to have come from South Africa. Rapping in Cape Slang, the Afrikaans spoken in the Cape Flats former township areas, was one of his specializations. In this track, Raak Wys, he enters the mind of a gangster. The video was shot one early evening in Amsterdam during one of Devious’ visits to the Netherlands. The chair made out of used weapons is an artwork from Mozambique
