To bring out poetry through a musical performance is a challenging mission that requires creativity, the right touch, sense and sensibility, talent and devotion to the idea of the poem.
Then to upgrade this whole musical package and transfer it to a visual medium, a video, this is another level.
There is almost always a gap between what I tried to say in music and the final result that is seen on the screen. What should I do to make it exactly as I wish?
To join with another creator, director of film and visual is to join with a person with a different language, a different point of view and artistic experience.
so I’m trying to explain the song, what atmosphere I tried to create. what it means to me...
In this song I was thinking about a tension created by combining contrasts:
black and white, male and female, flute and frame drum (the phallus and the womb), yin and yang.
We were lucky this time to work with Boaz Rabinovitch the gifted director.
He didn’t just understand deeply but added his own ideas of contrasts:
movement / statics,
passion / rationale (language)
There must be more. share if you found...
Thank you Boaz ❤️
𝗠𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲 is a song inspired by the poem My heart’s desire from 12th century written by 𝘙𝘢𝘣𝘣𝘪 𝘔𝘰𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘣𝘯 𝘌𝘻𝘳𝘢 who was a Jewish, Spanish distinguished philosopher, an able linguist, and a powerful poet. He was born in Granada in in 1055 and died after 1138.
Ibn Ezra is considered to have had great influence in the Arabic literary world also one of Spain’s greatest poets.
The 11th and 12th centuries were an important time for Judaeo-Arabic poetry and literature. Ibn Ezra like other Jewish-Arabic speaking poets differed very little in his writings from contemporary Arab poets.
Their poetry included passages borrowed from the Bible and Qur’an as well as allusions to both works.
After the foundation and consolidation of the Muslim Empire, the Arabic language and the related culture were only slowly adopted among the Jewish population of the dār al-Islām;

Main focus of Yamma music is the magical Hebrew language: Hebrew language receives a place of honor in all its layers and periods.
It’s the only living Canaanite language left and the only truly successful example of a revived dead language.
It survived 3000 years into the medieval period as the language of Jewish liturgy, rabbinic literature intra- Jewish commerce, and poetry.
In the 19th century, it was revived as a spoken and literary language.
It is alive and kicking even in the twenty-first century.
