The genetically-engineered tyrant Khan Noonien Singh (Ricardo Montalbán) first appeared in the 1967 Star Trek television episode “Space Seed.“ Khan escapes his 15-year exile on “Ceti Alpha V”, seeking to avenge himself upon now Admiral Kirk.
