Wooden Fairy Tales (1930)

Story of the Indians of Northwest Canada who have left “grotesque memorials of their past - “ C/U of an Indian wearing a patterned poncho, camera pans down to his feet. L/S of him walking out of a wooden house. He walks along a wooden plank towards the camera. We then see the Indian totem poles. A Caucasian man walks towards a pole which is lying on the ground. The Indian man stands alongside. The Caucasian man seems to be asking the Indian questions about the totems. Story is badly decomposed from this point. Man seems to be carving a totem pole in a work shed. Certain of the poles are being preserved and repainted in their original colours. L/S of group of totem poles standing by a mountain. C/U of two men looking up at one of the poles. Camera tilts up to show the tops of the poles. Various shots of totem poles follow but they are badly decomposed.
