LYRICS:
Look across the room, walls of melting steel
Watch the candle flicker as walls of steel gleam
Watching, waiting, staring, representing life,
Cardboard replica of man, framed in wood and steel
Home of dust and dirt, reflection of my life
Corner web of glow, ideas of tomorrow,
Thinking, making sense, surrounding circumstance,
Made by man to opter man, but never say a word, ah.
Portrait, picture, sing a song, tell a tale to me,
Sing a fool of all the rules, they break but cannot see
Catch a passing thought, now bring it to the light,
Cast a watchful eye, as mother to her son
Watching, waiting, staring, burning of (their thoughts)
Sacrifice it all you got, to redeem what you have not
Portrait, picture, sing a song,
tell a tale to me,
Sing a fool of all the rules,
they break but cannot see.
Give a man the effigy
hang it on a wall
Dress it up in halter
The finest made of steel
make a common copy
send it to the queen
Watching lifeless eyes, look down from a wall,
Survey the scene below and motionless they cry
watching, waiting, staring, giving up the fight
made by man to opter man but never say a word
