The Beatles performing “Let It Be.“
Paul McCartney, during the tense recordings
of the White Album and the early days of the
Get Back project, his mother Mary appeared before him in a dream, calming him and
saying “Let it be.“ Paul took the song to Twickenham Studios, where he presented
it to John, George and Ringo, and together
they polished it as McCartney finished
the lyrics.
After the band’s last concert on the roof
of the EMI studios in Abbey Road on
January 30, 1969, The Beatles returned
the next day to finish recording and film promotional videos
for most of the album’s songs. After the
band broke up in 1970, the latter were
kept in storage, until now.
