General Info: - I bought this soldering iron online for around 8$ - the restoration took about 3 weeks - the epoxy resin is a special one, which can be poured to a height of 30cm - i removed the new soldering iron (copper part) for the final test, i didnt want it to get dirty - the cat isnt real. What I did: I started with disassembling the old soldering iron, some of the brass parts were bent and worn, but the wick was looking brand new. After disassembling of the soldering iron I started with making a new handle for performing the Shou Sugi Ban finish. I turned the Beech wood on the lathe to its rough shape and burned it after that with a blowtorch,
