Glass Sculptures That Can Take Years To Make

These are glass sculptures made by Cold Glass artisan Jack Storms, He is known as “one of just three standout cold glass craftsmen. Unlike traditional glass artisans, who use flame & heat to make glass malleable, allowing them to mould it to a desired shape, Jack does not use heat, he cuts, polishes and laminates, until the glass pieces shine like mirrors. It all starts with that coloured cube glass core. Working with blocks of lead crystal, he cuts them several times, grinding and polishing each slice. Then, with the precision of a surgeon, he inserts slivers of coloured di-chroic glass between them at every stage, pausing to glue and cure them before repeating the process. The end result Glass core, emits a kaleidoscope of colors, which looks like the glass equivalent, of a rubics cube. This core is then encased, in sculpted optic crystal, he then hand-sculpts the final piece to the desired shape on a cold press lathe. The Optical Crystal helps with refracting the light passing
