Iwo Jima Eruption Update; Watch the World’s Newest Island Erupt, 9 Acres in Size

The world’s newest volcanic island has just formed, and this occurred via a new eruption of the Iwo Jima volcano in Japan. This video showcases footage taken via an overflight of this erupting volcanic vent, which is still erupting as of the making of this video. While the current brand-new island stands at approximately 9 acres in size, it is likely to further expand over time. Note: Due to volcanic hazards, in the opinion of GeologyHub you should stay at least 5 kilometers away from this erupting vent, which is at the following approximate coordinates: 24°45’“N, 141°19’“E. A special thanks to RyanH for providing me with various video clips and photos of the Iwo Jima volcano.
