Nearly 34 Rockets Fired at US Forces in Syria. The Spokesperson for the Global Coalition to combat Islamic State, Wayne Marotto, has revealed the latest updates on Monday’s attack on the US forces in Syria, saying that they were targeted by approximately 34 rockets. Hours after a US airstrike targeted the pro-Iran militia groups in the border areas between Iraq and Syria, the US forces near Syria’s Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zor came under a rocket attack. The Syrian Observatory blamed the incident on Iran-backed militia groups while the Coalition spokesperson soon confirmed the report and said in a statement on Twitter that the US forces acted in self-defense and responded to the attack.
