Great Horned Owls - Prince attempts to swallow baby raccoon June 18, 2019

What a morning in the Enchanted Forest! As I entered I heard the Prince calling out and I found him on a branch, eating last nights meal (a baby Raccoon). He tried as hard as he could to swallow the whole thing, but could not get it down. I then witnessed Mom fly in to possibly take the raccoon or possibly help the owlet eat it ( I think it was the first option due to her forceful attack. After she made impact with the Prince, the entire branch broke off and fell to the ground, remains of Raccoon and all! Prince and Mom each flew to a nearby tree and looked around as if thinking “What in the heck just happened?“ Quite an episode. :) In the end both owls were so much for the raccoon.
