Mexico stage collapse: nine killed at presidential campaign rally

At least nine people have died, including a child, after a strong gust of wind toppled the stage at a presidential campaign rally in northern Mexico. The collapse occurred during an event in the city of San Pedro Garza Garcia on Wednesday evening attended by the presidential candidate Jorge Álvarez Máynez. More than 60 people were injured, according to Samuel García, the governor of Nuevo Leon state. Three of the injured required surgery, García said.
