Vicente Asencio, Suite Valenciana

Preludi (0:00) Canconeta (2:03) Dansa (5:44) Vicente Asencio (1908-1979) was born in Valencia. He devoted much of his artistic energies to exploring the music of Valencia, including his 1971 Suite Valenciana, a lively and erudite homage to Asencio’s native region. I recorded this masterpiece in one of my favorite places: the Cathedral Barn at Historic Barns Park in Traverse City, MI.
