Painting clouds using the dry brush technique

Painting clouds becomes a lot easier when you use the dry brush technique. This means you don’t have to thin your paint down with medium. Dutch artist Janhendrik Dolsma often applies this technique in certain stages of his paintings. He shows how in his oil painting ’Beach Pole’. Dolsma (1950) is an expert painter of clouds, beaches, dunes and of course the ocean. On his Youtube channel he shares a lifetime of painting experience in short tutorial videos with an emphasis on painting clouds.
