The verb “avere” is one of the most important ones in Italian. In this video you’ll learn some expressions with the verb “avere”: “ho caldo” = “I am warm/hot”, “ho freddo” = “I am cold”, “ho fame” = “I am hungry”, “ho sete” = “I am thirsty”, “ho sonno” = “I am sleepy”, “ho fretta” = “I am in a hurry”, “ho paura” = “I am scared”. You’ll also learn how to conjugate “avere” in the present tense:
(io) ho, (tu) hai, (lui, lei, Lei) ha, (noi) abbiamo, (voi) avete, (loro) hanno.
We use “avere” to ask and say our age: “Quanti anni hai?” - “Ho 25 anni” = “How old are you?” - “I am 25”
Remember that, except in specific cases, we don’t use the pronoun with the verb (we say “ho”, not “io ho”).
Ciao!
