Making a Custom Cat Doll

Hello everybody! I hope that you enjoy my latest video, which shows the making process of a custom doll for a client, based on her pet Siamese cat called Jade Rose. My client wanted her doll to be dressed in a traditional kimono ensemble, which was very exciting to me, as I’ve long been fascinated and inspired by traditional Japanese clothing. I referred to the book ‘Making Kimono and Japanese Clothes’ by John Marshall to draft the pattern pieces and construct the kimono. It was very important to me to make the kitsuke (meaning the art of wearing the traditional Japanese garment) as authentic as possible, even on this small scale. This was such a fun project to work on and I’m so pleased to finally be able to share the journey of creating her with you. P.s.
