How a terminal cancer diagnosis made this man happier than ever
Dr. Daniel Bockmann, a chiropractor from Texas, has a surprising outlook on life. Despite being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer two years ago and given only six months to live, he says he is the happiest he has ever been.
Bockmann’s journey began in 2020, when he started experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort, such as constipation, diarrhea, and pain. He initially dismissed his symptoms as dehydration and lack of fiber, but soon realized something was seriously wrong when he saw blood in his stool and felt knife-like pain in his rectum.
He went to see a doctor and was shocked to learn that he had a softball-sized tumor in his rectum, which turned out to be cancerous. Further tests revealed that the cancer had spread to his lungs, liver, and pancreas, making it incurable.
Bockmann underwent chemotherapy and radiation, but they did not stop the cancer from progressing. His doctor told him that even with experimental immunotherapy, he had no more than six months to live.
