Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present an all-original 1972 Chevrolet Corvette in our Denver showroom!
Collectors, look no further; This is the Corvette you’ve been dreaming of! Between the flawless ‘Steel Cities Grey’ paint, and the original number-matching 454 CID V8, and 4-speed Manual Transmission. ..this is the holy grail when it comes to 3rd Generation Corvettes. And the best part? There’s 216 miles on it since a nut-and-bolt, frame-off, rotisserie restoration— which ‘Corvette America’ completed.
The 1972 Corvette was the last year to feature both front and rear chrome bumpers, a bright egg-crate grill, side-fender grills, and a removable rear window (this last was a feature unique only to the 1968-1972 Corvettes.) Those who wanted to go faster without going wild opted for the LS5 454, which added a high-performance hydraulic-lifter camshaft. It was good for 270 hp at 4000 rpm and 390 . of torque at 4000 rpm. A Rochester 750-cfm Quadra-Jet was fitted to this engine. An LS5 Vette could do 0-to-30 mph in 3.8 seconds and 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds. It covered the quarter mile in 14.1 seconds at 93 mph.
Standard features include: AM/FM Radio, Removable Targa Top, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Spare Tire, Telescopic Wheel, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Anti-Theft System, Leather Interior, Kill Switch, Raised White Letters, Posi-Traction, Rally Wheels.
