America has become the ‘laughing stock’ of the world

Political Journalist John Fund says America has become the “laughing stock” of the world when it comes to infrastructure and building it. “America used to be known for building things, fast and well,” Mr Fund told Sky News host James Morrow. “The Empire State Building went from a hole in the ground to being launched and opened for business in 14 months. “Last week the final middle-income statement for the rebuilding of Union Station in Washington DC, it only took nine years of construction and everything else and planning – it will now take another 14 years, it will probably open in 2040, this is pathetic. “All over the world, people build things faster and better than we do. “We’re a laughing stock in the world.”
