DIRECT HIT: Near X-Flare and Earth-Directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME)

Large sunspot AR3576 erupted yesterday (Feb 10th @ 23:07 UT), producing an solar flare. This flare had an associated 360 sfu Tenflare, and a Type II radio sweep (1856 km/s). Coronal dimming was observed in AIA/SDO 193 imagery at 10/23:08 UTC indicative of a CME lift off. Initial coronagraph imagery analysis indicates a potential Earth hit early on 13 February. G1- to G2-class geomagnetic storms are expected when the CME arrives.
