Republicans On The Rhine (1910-1919)

Rhine, Germany. Exact location and date of this film unknown. No original paperwork. Only listing states: “Republicans on the Rhine being searched and arrested - shots of fires.“ Any information about the events pictured here would be gratefully received. First shot shows two men wearing white arm bands looking directly into camera. Then a group of men stand in front of a flag. They pose with the flag. Group of men stand in front of a building in conversation. Various poor quality shots follow of firemen putting out building fires with hoses. Seems to have been a problem with original film - not transfer. This section is probably unusable. Towards the end of this section we can just about see a man with his arms in the air - presumably surrendering. He is arrested and we see him and another man being restrained then led off camera. Shots through a wrought iron gate - virtually black - impossible to make out what is going on. More shots of arrested men (now clear shots) being searched.
