Ukrainian soldier narrowly avoids death as troops face intense Russian artillery fire

Ukrainian soldiers were seen fighting in dreadful conditions in a video, released on Saturday (December 2) by Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade. The video showed armoured personnel carrier stalling while evacuating soldiers from their positions. The soldiers fell under artillery fire and a number of them were wounded. Russia captured Bakhmut, theatre of some of the bloodiest fighting of the 20-month-old war, in May 2023. Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in June aimed at retaking occupied land in the country’s south and east, including Bakhmut.
