As far back as the early 19th century, people were attempting to affix light sources to firearms. As technology has developed over the last 200 years, and especially in the last 40 or so years, from 1980 to present, weapon lights have become more and more common on firearms. But contrary to basic understanding, lights with similar top-line stats can actually have massively different functions and/or outputs. In this video we explore some of those functional differences with a demonstration on a course designed to highlight the differences between throw, spill and beam intensity.
