Shadows and Soft Edges

A short video from the first day of my virtual portrait and figure painting workshop. This clip picks up while I was talking about simplifying shadow shapes. Not much detail is needed within the shadow and not much is needed within the neighboring light shapes, it’s where the two meet that all the action is happening.
