Bio by She Rox, All Female Bands, The Rebel Pebbles began in the late 1980’s and after a change on vocals to Rachel Murray, bassist Robin Fox (Barnette), former Pandoras drummer Karen Blankfeld (Basset) on guitar and powerhouse drummer Cheryl Bullock the line up for the band was solidified and the band began making a name for themselves in Los Angeles area with their radio friendly power pop rock that many compared to the Bangles or the Go-Go’s, however the Rebel Pebbles were far from either, other then being signed to major label Records, once home to both the Bangles and The Go-Go’s, the Rebel Pebbles released their first Ep in 1990, “Partytime“ and with it’s fun catchy rock, it led the way for the band’s full length album in 1991 “Girls Talk“, critically acclaimed for its fun lighthearted tones, at a time when grunge was emerging the Rebel Pebbles were a fresh take on the music compared to grunge.
