Steven Back, a Hungarian vlogger who has lived in China for nearly 20 years, learned about Niu Huang Village, a small village in the Chongqing Municipality’s Yubei District, during his research on rural traditional architecture. He witnessed a “village assembly“ and learned how villagers have benefited from China’s self-governing system for villages and about their rural revitalization strategy. He said, “In Niu Huang Village, locals can elect village committee members by themselves. If they encounter problems, they can attend the village assembly.
