New Delhi’s top elected official arrested over liquor bribery claims

Arvind Kejriwal, the top elected official in the Indian state of Delhi, has been arrested over charges related to bribery. The chief minister is accused of accepting 1bn rupees (£) from alcohol contractors. Mr Kejriwal is an anti-corruption champion and his Aam Admi Party claim the charges are a political motivated attack by a federal agency controlled by Narendra Modi’s government.
