Under the leadership of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a training exercise was conducted with the forces and means of the land, naval and aviation components of the strategic deterrent force. Practical launches of ballistic and cruise missiles took place during the training: - A Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome at the Kura test range in Kamchatka; - From the waters of the Barents Sea from the nuclear-powered strategic missile submarine cruiser Novomoskovsk and from the Sea of Okhotsk from the nuclear-powered submarine cruiser Prince Oleg, the Sineva and Bulava ballistic missiles were launched; - Long-range aviation aircraft Tu-95ms carried out launches of air-launched cruise missiles.
