There you notice a group of priests deeply submerged in Hysichastic prayer (a post-Fall derivation of ’isichastic’ prayer). The holy men were completely still, except for their lips, which moved in a silent chant. You are in awe of the priest’s intense concentration and as you hear the choir echoing from the inside of the monastery, you feel a sense of peace wash over you. You watch in quiet reverence, not wanting to disturb the meditation. As you turn to leave, you feel a newfound sense of calm and reverence for the spiritual practices of the Vaselenya monastery.
